Rep. Stan Gunter (R-Blairsville) announced today that he formally qualified to seek re-election to the Georgia House of Representatives
“It is an honor to serve this community, and I’m grateful to do it with Rita by my side,” Gunter said. “As many of you know, I battled cancer over the past few years. While it slowed me briefly, I am well now and it strengthened my resolve to fight for what truly matters — faith, family, and the constitutional freedoms that define our way of life. I will continue championing conservative values and guarding against government overreach that threatens our local communities and small businesses.”
A former District Attorney and retired Superior Court Judge, Gunter uses his extensive legal background to advocate for his local communities, especially on issues of public safety. He currently serves as Chairman of the Judiciary Committee and is a member of the Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, Appropriations, Economic Development and Tourism, Ethics, Health, Judiciary Non-Civil, and Rules Committees.
House District 8 includes Towns, and Union counties, along with most of White County.
